The sport vocabulary your app was missing.
Every fitness platform names sports differently. OpenSportTaxonomy is the common language between them. Pick what you are translating from and to. Either side can be OpenSportTaxonomy itself.
decode → OST → encode: what survives a sync.
Greyed values have no equivalent and fall back to generic. Most
translations only lose detail: swimming.pool encodes to Strava's
Swim, which decodes back to plain swimming. Vaguer, but
still true.
Rows marked reads back as … are different. The platform
has no code for the sport, and the nearest one already means something else:
cycling.cyclocross encodes to Ride, but Ride
decodes back to cycling.road. Strava would store a cyclocross ride as a
road ride.
